Our rural communities with land for sale in Bradford County, Florida

A perfect tempo for the heartbeat of rural northern Florida

The tagline for Bradford County’s tourism department is “It’s Better in Bradford.” And if that’s what it promises to people who visit there, just imagine what it offers to people who call it home after an in-state or out-of-state move.

Take its broad-based economy, for example, that’s powered by good jobs in healthcare, manufacturing, construction, and educational services, among other industries. Or its combination of a low cost of living and low taxes that makes it equally magnetic to young families and retirees. Or the small-town Americana traditions in the welcoming communities of Starke, Lawtey and Hampton. Or its unique position southwest of Jacksonville and northeast of Gainesville – and only a short drive to both. When you take all that into account, it’s no wonder country living opportunities from Raydient Rural have proven so popular in Bradford County.

FAQs about rural land for sale in Bradford County, Florida

Just like with traditional home prices, land prices can – and do – vary broadly based on characteristics like a property’s features, its location, access to major roadways, natural features, special amenities, level of development, etc. Your real estate or land agent will be able to provide you with valuable, timely data about what you can expect to pay for rural acreage throughout northern Florida.

That varies from developer to developer and site to site. At Raydient Rural, all of our communities have access to electricity. We can also recommend contractors to install your well-water and septic sewage systems. (In addition, a limited number of our rural communities have access to city-water.)

Personal preference is a good guide here, since rural living throughout the region has a lot to offer, regardless of where you ultimately drop your mailbox post in the ground. “Location, location, location” is considered a truthful rallying cry in rural real estate for good reason: Buyers want to find just the right balance of “close enough, but far enough away.” Bradford County fits that model very, very well. US Highway 301 runs north-south through the entire county, providing direct access to both Jacksonville (and all its coastal amenities) and Gainesville. Plus, great communities like Starke, Hampton and Lawtey – with shopping, restaurants and recreation activities – are also conveniently located right along that main artery.

Bradford County Strawberries

Just a few of the great reasons to live in Bradford County

If you decide to call rural Bradford County home, you’ll very likely set aside time in early April for the annual Strawberry Festival, which draws people by the thousands for a community celebration of “the sweetest strawberries this side of heaven.” Then again, no matter what makes life most flavorful for you, you’ll find it here. Like biking? Hop on either of two 30-plus mile routes that wind through the county’s small communities. Like something a little faster? Join other motorcyclists at the Starke Bike Festival in August or save a weekend to get behind the wheel at the Florida International Rally and Motorsports Park. Looking for a slower pace? Go fishing on one of the county’s several lakes or wander through the antique shops on Call Street in Starke. When you stake your claim to a rural lot in Bradford County, it’s all readily at hand.

Bradford County Starke

Living your rural dream near Starke, Hampton or Lawtey

Given its close proximity to both Jacksonville and Gainesville, Bradford County has become a natural bedroom community for people who work in both cities. Yet there are also plenty of people who both work and live in Bradford County, too, capitalizing on the small-town spirit that brings its own special charms to Hampton, Lawtey, and Starke (the county seat), which each run right along State Highway 301. Whether you’re looking to build out a new rural homestead, a hobby farm or a recreation track, acreage from Raydient Rural welcomes into everything Bradford County has to offer.
